  1. Take a walk on the Dungeness Spit. It’s one of our all-time favorite things to do in Sequim and a fantastic way to enjoy your romantic getaway. This iconic stretch of coastline offers stunning views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, making it an excellent opportunity to take a deep breath and connect with nature—and each other!
  2. It may not have the reputation of Walla Walla or Oregon’s Willamette Valley, but the Olympic Peninsula has plenty of opportunities for wine tasting. Talk about a great way to enjoy your romantic getaway in Sequim! Visit local wineries like Wind Rose Cellars for a tasting of handcrafted wines in a cozy setting.
  3. As spring gets underway, consider taking a local tour on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, where you’ll see plenty of whales and wildlife in their natural habitat. Puget Sound Express offers whale-watching tours out of Port Townsend and Port Angeles, just a short drive from our romantic Sequim lodging. The best time for local whale watching this spring is from April to June. The best month for birdwatching tours is April, but you can enjoy Puffin-specific tours from June through September.
  4. For a more relaxed day immersed in nature, consider visiting the Dungeness River Nature Center. There’s a beautiful park here, which includes the historic Dungeness Railroad Bridge and offers plenty of opportunities to see and learn about local wildlife. The Olympic Discovery Trail also runs right through the park.
  5. On a sunny day, few things beat the chance to kayak on Dungeness Bay – and it’s something you can enjoy right here at our Sequim lodging! Rent one of our kayaks, and enjoy an afternoon talking and connecting as you paddle these calm waters. You’ll be surrounded by incredible wildlife and scenic vistas.
  6. If playing in the snow sounds like a fun way to spend your romantic afternoon, head to Hurricane Ridge to enjoy a quiet afternoon snowshoeing. It’s one of the most romantic things to do in Sequim, and it is open Friday – Sunday, weather-dependent.
  7. For more adventures on the Olympic Peninsula, consider a day hike or a scenic drive through the iconic Olympic National Park. We’re happy to share our local recommendations, tips, and tricks for making the most of this adventure.
  8. Indulge in local cuisine with a romantic meal. There are plenty of fantastic local Sequim restaurants, but our favorite romantic spots include Nourish, Dockside Grill, and Alderwood Bistro.
